In this hands-on workshop, participants will be guided through ways Canva can support what you’re already doing in your classroom and transform your traditional projects and assignments. We will explore how students can use Canva to demonstrate their understanding of the topic through their creation of visually engaging materials. You’ll have workshop time to start a student project exemplar or create project directions/supporting materials in Canva.
Level: Intermediate/Advanced

*Please note, if you are newer to Canva, this is an Intermediate/Advanced session. If you have NOT already mastered ALL of the below skills, please attend the Canva Essential Skills 1: Kickstart creativity in the classroom with Canva session prior to attending this advanced session:
  • Login to Canva
  • Switch which Canva team you are working in
  • Find all of your previous Canva projects and sort projects
  • Add new folders in the Projects tab
  • Import resources from other sources to Canva, including PDF’s, images, slides, etc.
  • Copy Canva projects from one team to another
  • Search and use the filters to find Canva templates to get started
  • Know how to rename your design
  • Search and filter Canva’s design elements (images, videos, audio, graphics, etc.) to add in the Canva editor
  • Basic element editing: changing hex code colors on graphics, removing the background of a photo, flipping an element, playing with layers of elements, etc.
  • Add and edit text
  • Different ways you can share/present your Canva creation
