AI Prompts: Crew Chief for Students
Thursday June 5, 2025 8:00am - 8:50am MDT
Title: AI Prompts: Crew Chief for Students
Course Description: According to Blake Pope, "The prompt is king." The more you work with AI, the more you realize the wisdom of this motto. In this session, learn how to refine an AI prompt in order to have the most effective Crew Chief for your students' learning.
What Tech Tool Will Be Utilized: SchoolAI
Instructional Strategy: A focus on creating, previewing, and revising prompts to generate the exact results you want for your students.
What You’ll Experience: This session will be most effective for those who are at least minimally familiar with AI. We'll discuss the dos and don'ts of an effective AI prompt...especially as it applies to our *creative* students, shall we say? We'll focus on Spaces and Sidekick in SchoolAI, but the principles apply in all AI scenarios.
What Challenge You Will Do: "Fix" an existing prompt or generate a new one.

ELA/Creative Writing, Weber School District
I have taught ELA in every secondary grade over the course of my career. I understand that even though English is "my thing," it's not for my students. As a result, I constantly look for ways to make reading and writing both engaging and meaningful for students.

Ignite Engagement with Educational VR
Thursday June 5, 2025 9:00am - 9:50am MDT
Title: Ignite Engagement with Educational VR
Course Description: VR is more than just a fun incentive for performance; it can bring the learning to (virtual) life in elementary and secondary education. Want to take a trip to ancient Rome in history? Want to show where the story you're reading takes place? Want to calculate volume or area in real time? Want to show the students the arctic animals they're learning about? Want to explore a molecule? Educational VR can do that.
What Tech Tool Will Be Utilized: VR Headsets
Instructional Strategy: Enhance student connections to content with interactive experiences, including augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).
What You’ll Experience: Get tips and tricks from a teacher who has utilized it. Learn how to set it up from a DT&L expert. Experience it for yourself. And browse the possibilities.
